Chakra Meditation For Well-Being

Chakras are energy centers, also known as vortexes, which are situated in our bodies at various levels and contribute to the overall health of our nervous system and our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. Chakra meditation is a process that utilizes these chakras and their energy channels in order to awaken and improve ones overall health, as well as to help facilitate spiritual growth. The word “chakra” originates from the Sanskrit translation “kunda”, which means “pot”. In ancient India, this energy center was identified as the seat of power known as the “Majja” or Life Force Energy, which interacted with the other seven main aspects of creation, such as the astral, mental, and psychological energies. Through various spiritual practices, it is possible to draw more of this Majja into your life and help cultivate the qualities that make you who you are. This in turn, will enable you to be able to draw more of the Majja into your world and assist you in every aspect of your life.

The first step to Chakra meditation involves drawing your attention to your Crown Chakra, located in your chest cavity. The crown is considered by several ancient cultures as the seat of the universal energy flowing through the body and connecting everything together. Through this Chakra meditation, you are able to center your mind and attention on this energy flowing through your entire body, allowing it to expand and envelope you completely.

Healing Your Root Chakra

Once you have chosen a suitable position for your Chakra meditation, it is important to place your hands in a natural position that will allow for easy access to the energy channels and Chakra points. Then, you are encouraged to relax your entire body and begin to breathe deeply. As your breathing deepens, your crown will become aware of a change in your energy field as it begins to open up and begin to flow smoothly with the power of your breath. This feeling will be one of well-being, equilibrium, comfort and well being. In addition, when you begin to focus on the feeling of your entire body as functioning together as one, you will find that your spiritual and physical health will take on a new and very encouraging quality.
