Vacuum cleaner, also called a vacuum or an upholster

A vacuum cleaner, also called a vacuum or an upholster, is a movable device which causes continuous suction to draw dirt out of carpets, upholstery, furniture, drapery, and many other surfaces. It is usually electrically operated. It has a bag which contains a collection of small particles like soil, dust, and dirt. The vacuum cleaner draws these small particles and the dirt along with the vacuum bag through a hose and into a collection container where it can be disposed of.

There are two types of vacuums – the wet vacuum cleaner and the dry vacuum cleaner. The wet cleaner is used to clean upholstery and upholstered furniture. It sucks up the dirty air and dumps it into the collection bag or can be reused. The dry cleaner on the other hand sucks up dirt and grime from floors and carpet. It uses a different type of machine and is used more commonly.

A vacuum cleaner works in much the same way a cyclone works. A small cylindrical tube with a number of small holes on the outside called the “cyclone” is introduced into the area to be cleaned. As the tube travels down the cyclone it pushes dirty air through it and removes dust and soil particles from the air.
