Servant Leadership Traits You Need to Know

In this article we are going to take a look at two servant leadership traits that seem to be quite common. What are the characteristics of servant leadership? We will discuss both the leader and the follower. Both seem to have their own strengths and weaknesses but for our purposes let’s keep them simple and assume that the leader is always on top and has final authority.

While traditional leadership usually involves the accumulation and development of power from the bottom up, servant leadership traits is a different scenario. The servant leader helps individuals grow and perform to their maximum potential and shares power, usually exercises total control, and directs people towards their own goals and not necessarily those of their fellow co-workers.

So what are the key servant leadership traits? Well, the first one is that you want to make sure that the leader is willing to lead by example. Leaders need to be an inspiration to their followers. If they are not inspiring, no one will follow them.
